Silicon Carbide Ceramic Foam Filter, simply name: SIC Ceramic Foam Filter, usually, SiC CFF is easy to remember.

1. Silicon carbide foam ceramic filter sheets are three-dimensional, net-like, porous ceramic products made from silicon carbide (SiC) as the main raw material, combined with special binders and functional additives, through organic foam impregnation, molding, and high-temperature sintering. They are specialized liquid metal purification consumables for the high-temperature casting industry.

The core function of the product is to remove slag, oxide inclusions, bubbles and refractory debris from molten iron, molten steel and high-temperature alloy liquid, and to evenly distribute the metal flow rate. This helps to reduce casting defects at the source and improve the quality of finished products and the yield of qualified products.
● The product as a whole has an intercommunicating three-dimensional sponge-like porous structure, with a porosity of up to 80% to 90%. The silicon carbide hard core forms the main support, with excellent resistance to high-temperature impact and heat shock; the internal channels are tortuous and interlaced, and are fully connected throughout, effectively prolonging the path through which the metal liquid flows.
● The conventional shape is square or circular sheet-like. At the same time, special styles such as irregular shapes, stepped types, and those with reinforced frames can be customized. They are suitable for various casting systems.
(1) Mechanical screening: Large pieces of slag, refractory material debris and thick oxide scales with a size larger than the filter aperture are directly intercepted on the upper surface of the filter, completing the coarse-level filtration.
(2) Deep interception: The medium-sized inclusions, along with the molten metal, enter the tortuous channels. They constantly collide and get stuck against the ceramic framework, and are then retained within the filter, achieving deep purification.
(3) Physical absorption: The surface of silicon carbide features microscopic undulations and active sites, which can strongly adsorb micron-sized oxide impurities and suspended particles. It can filter out micro impurities that ordinary filters cannot remove.
(4) Filter cake enhancement: The impurities accumulated on the upper surface will form a dense filter cake layer, which acts as a secondary filtration structure. It can intercept sub-micron-sized ultra-fine impurities and simultaneously optimize the metal liquid flow field, making the casting process more stable.

1. Temperature resistance performance: The maximum operating temperature is 1580℃, and the long-term stable working temperature is 1400 - 1550℃. It is specially designed for ultra-high temperature metal liquid conditions such as molten iron, cast steel, and heat-resistant alloys.
2. Thermal stability: Excellent thermal shock stability, capable of repeatedly withstanding high-temperature metal liquid erosion and rapid cooling at room temperature, without cracking, slagging, or corner breakage; extremely low thermal expansion coefficient, with the size remaining basically unchanged under high-temperature conditions, eliminating the problems of leakage and damage.
3. Mechanical properties: Compressive strength ≥ 1.2 MPa. Strong resistance to metal liquid erosion. The casting process does not collapse or crack. Compared to ordinary ceramic products, it has better toughness and a lower damage rate during transportation and installation.
4. Chemical stability: Resistant to acid and alkali corrosion. It does not react chemically with molten iron or steel at high temperatures, does not release harmful substances, does not contaminate the metal liquid, and ensures the purity of the casting components.
5. Flow performance: The high porosity combined with the interconnected pore channels results in low fluid resistance. The filtration operation will not significantly reduce the casting speed and will not affect the overall production efficiency.

1. How should silicon carbide filters and alumina filters be selected?
For high-temperature cast steel and high-grade cast iron conditions, silicon carbide foam ceramic filters should be chosen; for ordinary aluminum liquid and low-temperature cast iron conditions, alumina foam ceramic filters should be preferred.
2. How should different PPI specifications be selected?
For ordinary general castings, 20PPI is chosen; for precision small parts and thin-walled castings, 30 to 40PPI is selected; for large-flow coarse filtration scenarios, 10PPI is used.
3. Can this product be reused?
This product is a disposable filtration consumable. Once the pores are clogged with impurities, the filtration effect will significantly decrease. It is not recommended to reuse it.
4. Is the damage rate high during sea transportation?
With the use of professional shock-proof export packaging, under normal sea transportation conditions, the damage rate of the products can be controlled.
