Ceramic foam filter is just developed as a new type molten metal filters to decrease casting flaw and also as a catalyst carrier for Air Treatment in recent years, play a vital role in the metal casting and air treatment, where they are used to filter out impurities in molten metal to improve the quality and performance of the end product or decompose organic pollutants into pollution-free water (H2O) and carbon dioxide (CO2) to meet high environmental requirements.

There are three categories according to their materials and applications.
Alumina foam ceramic is a kind of foam material made from high purity alumina.
The foam ceramics have the characteristics of uniform porosity, high temperature resistance, heat shock resistance, wear resistance and chemical stability.
Alumina foam ceramic filter plate is very important to the quality of aluminum melt, which affects the subsequent processing performance and the quality of final products to a great extent.

Mainly used for the filtration of molten aluminium and alloys in foundries and cast houses.
Widely used in casting processing, water treatment, chemical industry, environmental protection and other industries. It is the ideal liquid aluminum filter; Catalyst support, and good sound insulation, thermal insulation material. Product shapes, sizes, and voids PPI can be designed and manufactured on request.

Silicon carbide ceramic foam filter adopts Japan imported polyurethane foam sponge as the carrier, the slurry which mainly contains silicon carbide is extruded into the foam sponge, and then extrude slurry, the remaining slurry coated around the foam fiber is dring, roasting and sintering at high temperature, polyurethane is decomposed by heat, foam shaped ceramic products are left, namely, silicon carbide foam ceramic filter, simply SIC ceramic foam filter.
SIC (silicon carbide) ceramic foam filters are developed and manufactured for the filtration of cast iron and non ferrous alloys.
As the most advanced filter type with the higher filtration efficiency, It can effectively reduce inclusions and turbulence of molten metal, ensuring purified molten metal goes into the mould cavity with improved flow rates.
Using the unique formula and manufacturing process, SIC ceramic foam filters have the excellent thermal shock, chemical and high temperature resistance up to 1500°C.
SIC ceramic foam filter mainly used for filtering and purifying nodular cast iron, gray cast iron, aluminum, copper and other alloy metal liquid filtration.

The basic material of zirconia ceramic foam filter is ZrO2.
The heat resistance temperature higher than about 1760℃, and it has very high strength and excellent high-temperature impact resistance.
Zirconia Ceramic Foam Filters are used for filtration of all types of steel like unalloyed, low alloyed, stainless and high-alloyed.
Filters are recommended especially for high quality grades of alloys.
Cast steel parts are widely used in aspects that require high strength and elongation requirements. Therefore, cast steel parts are very sensitive to defects caused by impurities.
The excellent characteristics of zirconia ceramic foam filter can effectively remove impurities that ultimately lead to product quality defects.
The impurities mainly consist of non-metallic particles, slag, and refractory material fragments.
It improves the surface quality and mechanical properties of the casting parts, reduces the scrap rate.
Zirconia ceramic foam filter can make the molten steel fill the cavity more uniformly. During pouring, the molten metal has a higher tendency for turbulence, and the turbulence after passing through the three-dimensional pore structure of the zirconia foam ceramic filter is ultimately converted into a very stable laminar flow. The laminar flow has better filling properties for the cavity, thereby reducing the impact and corrosion of the molten metal solution on the casting cavity and significantly reducing the scrap rate.
