What are sources of aluminum impurities?

Because the aluminum waste is coming from the process waste and scrap during each process in factory and the waste outside the factory, so, the composition is complex due to different way as well as the quality is poor. 

These impurities often make the billet produce bubbles and inclusions, which seriously affect the purity of the metal melt, thus further affect the processing properties, mechanical properties, corrosion resistance and the appearance quality of the product.

What are reasons for aluminum pollution?

1. In the smelting process, aluminum is exposed to the furnace atmosphere in a molten or semi-molten state, easy to oxidize, easy to react with water vapor and absorb hydrogen, easy to form various forms of non-metallic slag (such as furnace lining debris, chloride, carbide in flux, etc.) and coarse metal intercompound particles and so on. 

2. Non-aluminum impurities are carried in during the process circulation by some of waste materials maked up the charging material.

There are three kinds of fiberglass filter bags to solve above aluminum pollution and impurities!

First one, TF Combo Bag

Fiberglass thermally fused shunt combo bag, simply named TF Combo bag, which is weaved by special high-twist & high-strength alkali-free fiberglass yarn, special post-treatment, coated with special phenolic resin and carbonized by high temperature. Its withstand temperature up to 1000 °C.

1. Mesh opening: 2.5x2.5mm is usually used for aluminum filtration!

2. Dimensions: 13" X 5" X 6" is common-use sizes!

3. Color: Dark Brown!

Application:

● Apply to filter and evenly distribute molten aluminum in molds.

● Apply to large Dia. aluminum ingot/billet/ slab.

● Used in sand casting, permanent mold, shell mold, draw mold and investment casting.

Functions:

● Improve mechanical quality of aluminum casting product.

● Improve temperature distribution and control flow of aluminum vertical direct.

● Improve hardness of aluminum casting with more average surface hard and bending strength.

● Improve working environment, bags will be producing very little smoke, fumes or flame when molten aluminium flow inside, but it is harmless, no any affect to staff.

● Ensure the removal of oxides or other debris suspended in the volume.

● Filter molten metal and decrease in non-metallic inclusions and oxide films in liquid metal.

● Remove the harmful impurities such as bubbles, ash oxides, and various inclusions in aluminum molten liquid.

● Improve the yield of aluminum castings, improve the quality of aluminum products.

● Avoid the problem of other metal components into aluminum solution.

● Does not affect the composition of aluminum alloy.

Second, Fiberglass Filter Sock

Fiberglass Filter Sock is woven with special high-twist & high-strength alkali-free fiberglass yarn, special refractory cotton or steel wire are sewed on the top of socks.

● Specially used for the difusion and filtration of aluminum continuous casting on line on the Production line. 

● Purpose: Purification of molten aluminum metal from impurities. 

● The maximum temperature resistance can reach 900 ℃.

Third, Soft Carbon Fiber Filter Basket

Soft carbon fiber filter basket is made of Carbon fiber cloth!

Carbon fiber cloth and matching impregnated adhesive are used together to form carbon fiber composite material, which can form a complete carbon fiber cloth sheet reinforcement system.

Carbon fiber cloth is also known as carbon fiber cloth,carbon fiber braided cloth, carbon fiber prepreg cloth, carbon fiber reinforced cloth, carbon fiber fabric, carbon fiber tape, carbon fiber sheet (prepreg cloth), etc. Carbon fiber reinforced fabric is a one-way carbon fiber reinforced product, usually made of 12K carbon fiber yarn.

Carbon fiber refers to high-strength and high-modulus fibers with a carbon content of more than 90%. Its high temperature resistance ranks is the  first of all chemical fibers. It is made of acrylic fiber and viscose fiber by oxidation and carbonization at high temperature.

Carbon fiber is mainly composed of carbon elements, with high temperature resistance, friction resistance, thermal conductivity and corrosion resistance and other characteristics. It is of fiber shape, soft and it can be processed into a variety of fabrics. It is high strength and modulus along the fiber axis direction because of its graphite microcrystalline structure along the fiber axis preferred orientation. High specific strength and modulus are due to low density of Carbon fiber. The main use of carbon fiber is as a reinforcement material, composited with resin, metal, ceramics and carbon, to manufacture advanced composite materials.

Soft carbon fiber filter basket specially is used for aluminum casting filtration, which is requested exact high quality, such as: aluminum and alloy parts for airplane, aerospace and quite precise aluminum castings.
