Application

In order to meet the increasing quality requirements of aluminum castings, the use of alumina ceramic foam filters (plates) are becoming more and more important.

Filters are also widely used in ordinary sand casting, such as wet mold casting, and fixed mold casting, such as automotive aluminum parts casting.


The use of the filtration process is mainly based on the following considerations:

1. Filtration makes the flow of molten aluminum more orderly and relatively calm;

2. Solid slag in the molten metal is effectively removed, and the quality of castings is rapidly improved.

How to choose the suitable alumina Ceramic foam filter plate?

First of all, according to the impurity content of aluminum melt, melt transfer flow rate of the final casting product quality requirements.

The plate with a large hole mesh can be chosed when a lot of impurities contained and normal quality of casting products required.

New type plate with small holes can be selected when the quality requirements of casting products are high.

Thirdly, The effective specific surface area or porosity calculation of the foam should be carefully evaluated when selecting.

The mesh homogeneity of the surface layer of the filter plate can be observed, and then the mesh homogeneity of the cross section can be observed.

If possible, the porosity can be measured by drainage method.

The three-dimensional mesh is homogeneous, the porosity is relatively large, means it is an excellent foam ceramic filter plate.
